Partner Ms. Stewart has a diverse civil litigation practice. She concentrates her practice in the areas of construction law, employment law, professional liability and business litigation. Ms. Stewart has been named a “Rising Star” (a distinction reserved for attorneys under the age of forty and with less than ten years of experience) by the rating service Super Lawyers and publishers of Boston Magazine every year since 2005. Ms. Stewart’s construction law practice includes representing owners, contractors and design professionals as both plaintiffs and defendants in contract disputes, claims of defective workmanship, oil and hazardous waste response actions, and personal injuries. In the area of employment law, Ms. Stewart has defended wrongful termination, sexual harassment and other discrimination claims in federal and state court and before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. She also advises employers on employment policies and procedures and employment and separation agreements. Ms. Stewart is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. She is a member of the American, Massachusetts, Boston, and Massachusetts Women’s bar associations and the National Association of Women in Construction. Ms. Stewart received her J.D. from Boston University Law School. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, in Biology & Society and Latin American Studies from Cornell University and studied abroad in Venezuela and the Netherlands. |
