Conn Kavanaugh's attorneys are highly regarded in the area of construction law. Partners practicing in this area collectively have over 55 years of experience in the construction arena.
We represent owners, design professionals, general contractors, and subcontractors in all aspects of construction related legal matters, including contract drafting, contract award, and litigation of the full range of construction project claims. The Construction Law group includes attorneys who are seasoned litigators with broad experience in federal and state courts, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution. Our practice focuses on the following areas: Claim Litigation Our attorneys handle construction disputes of every size and complexity. Very often in the course of a construction project, issues arise over workmanship, design quality, and changes to the plans and specifications. Our litigation experience includes claims for delays, differing site conditions, cost overruns, and claims in which work is alleged not to have met the project plans and specifications. We are experienced at finding and working with appropriate technical experts to advance or defend such matters. While settlement is often the most cost-effective resolution, when necessary we have engaged in extensive trials and arbitrations with consistently successful results. Construction Accidents Construction is a dangerous business. Accidents regularly occur and can be quite serious. Conn Kavanaugh has defended owners, contractors, and design professionals against claims of wrongful death and serious disability. We are familiar with and understand the body of federal and state regulations that govern construction site safety, and their potential impact on accident claims. We have assisted contractors in the development of safety manuals that can satisfy OSHA and state requirements. Also, we have experience working with clients during OSHA investigations in the immediate aftermath of construction site accidents, so that their rights are protected during this administrative phase, as well as in a later personal injury lawsuit.
